Please tell us about yourself.

I was born in Korea and moved to New Jersey with my family at the age of 13. I attended middle school and high school in Tenafly. I then went on to study at Rutgers University for my bachelor’s and master’s degrees. During my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, going to cafes with my friends, and also taking walks by myself.

Tell the story of how you got to EC.

I developed a strong interest in history when I was in middle school and high school, drawn to how studying the past helps us better understand the present and make thoughtful decisions for the future. This interest led me to pursue a major in history and a minor in Jewish studies during my undergraduate studies. Then, I pursued a master’s degree in social studies education to prepare for a career in teaching. God has led me all the way here with his providence, and He was with me in every step of my journey. I am excited to be able to be part of Eastern Christian School where I can bring my passion for teaching history while freely integrating Christian values.

What sets EC apart?

Eastern Christian School is a very special community because Jesus is at the center of everything. In this increasingly secular world where speaking of one’s faith carries risk, EC provides a safe environment where students and teachers are welcome to share their faith while they engage in rigorous academic learning.

Eastern Christian School offers a very organized curriculum which guides and supports the students to reach academic excellence. At the same time, academic exploration is grounded in faith and helps students to find their passion in life.
