Welcome Parents!
We are pleased to introduce EC’s new food service program!
Thank you for your patience, understanding, and grace as we build this program from the ground up! Our new, in-house food service will launch for the EC school district at the start of the 2022-23 school year. Our team will be working out of the high school cafeteria, newly named the Eagle Cafe, and distributing lunches to all campuses.
At the high school level, students may pre-order lunches, and/or purchase breakfast, lunch, and snacks. All elementary and middle school students will have the opportunity to pre-order lunch on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Tuesdays and Thursdays will remain as Chick-fil-A and pizza day fundraisers for the PTO.
Initially, the Eagle Cafe will offer one lunch item per day with optional sides. The menu is structured to repeat itself in weekly cycles, so the same meal will appear more than once during a month. We plan to add a larger variety of daily offerings once our team members get accustomed to the kitchen and identify preferred menu items. The program is starting small, but we have some amazing ideas in mind!
At the high school, we will always offer a main lunch option, in addition to many snack/to-go foods. As we progress into the school year, the Eagle Cafe will begin to expand the menu with hot breakfasts, both hot and cold lunch options, as well as daily soups and salads.
Does your child have a food allergy? We do, so we understand the importance, and sometimes the frustration, that can come with a food allergy or sensitivity. While some of our meals and sides are naturally allergen free, we are not able to offer allergen-free items on every school lunch day…YET! As we add more options to our menu throughout the first semester, we will be diligent in making common food allergen substitutions as an option as well. While we do not have nuts in our own kitchen, we cannot guarantee the kitchens and suppliers we receive products from are nut-free. Thank you, again, for your patience as we build this program.
As for the logistics, EZ School Apps will be used for seamless planning and ordering your student’s meals. This software is a web-based program that you can easily access from your phone or computer. Parents will be able to pre-order meals and upload funds to student’s accounts via the security of PayPal.
Orders may be placed week by week, or as far out as one month in advance. The deadline for pre-ordering food for the following week will be Tuesday at 11:59 PM. This gives the food service team enough time to plan, order, and prepare accordingly to minimize waste.
Below you will find instructions for signing up with EZ School Apps, how to pre-order meals, and Eagle Cafe policies.
We are so excited to be a part of this new food service experience in serving the EC community. We hope to provide some relief for parents, as well, knowing that your children will be given fresh, affordable, and delicious meals to fuel their learning.
