Eastern Christian Welcomes Noé Burgos

Eastern Christian School welcomes Noé Burgos as high school registrar. He spent the majority of his career at Christian universities working in higher education enrollment for non-traditional and international students. As a product of Christian education himself, he is excited to join EC and help students explore God’s plan for their future endeavors.

Please tell us about yourself.

I grew up in Teaneck, NJ. A first-generation American born to Salvadoran parents, I grew up with a voracious desire to understand my Hispanic identity and spent years reading books related to Latin American history and literature. This really opened my love for reading, and if I was better at English grammar at the time, I would have loved to teach!

Tell the story of how you got to EC.

I credit my youth pastor for encouraging me to pursue Christian higher education, and thanks to him and other individuals, I attended and graduated from Mount Vernon Nazarene University with a B.A. in Spanish Language and Literature. After that, I began my professional journey in working in higher education in different enrollment and registrar roles. Seeing the value of Christian education, I worked for a few different Christian institutions like MVNU and Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama.

Returning to New Jersey in 2023, I started attending Cornerstone Christian Church, a wonderful church that has had a big impact on me in the way it emphasized the importance of sharing their resources to help other Christian ministries. Through conversations with other congregants that were involved with EC, I was pleasantly surprised to find the Registrar position. I was hoping to continue to serve a mission-based institution in promoting Christian education, and I loved the fact that EC was doing just that, right in my backyard.

What sets EC apart?

From my first day, I noticed something truly special about EC. I’ve heard stories of EC alumni returning to serve their school in an employment capacity with some being here for many years. There is something to be said about a place like this. EC resonated with me as a place where Christian faith and rigorous academic learning are not mutually exclusive. The faculty and staff here really strive to support the whole person in a nurturing and supportive environment, to send their students out at graduation to achieve their future goals. I’m excited to partner with EC in that initiative.
