Eastern Christian School welcomes Sarah Martin as a fourth grade teacher. An EC alumna, she graduated from Liberty University with degrees in K-12 special education and PK-6 general education.
I grew up in Midland Park, New Jersey. I enjoy reading, spending time with my family and friends, and traveling. My favorite place to travel is Disney World. During college, I worked in Disney World as a Jungle Cruise Skipper.
Eastern Christian has always been a highlight of my educational journey. I was a student at Eastern Christian from PreK through graduation. After EC, I earned my dual degree in K-12 special education and PreK-6 general education from Liberty University in Virginia. Before joining the staff at Eastern Christian, I spent four years working as a public school educator in both special and general education classrooms. I am overjoyed to return to Eastern Christian as an educator.
Based on my experience in Christian schooling, I am able to identify the benefits of having a school system focused not only on nurturing students academically but also on nurturing them spiritually and morally. In academic subjects, I was able to develop a stronger connection to my faith and the world around me because God’s presence was always emphasized, not diminished. All of my instruction was given with a Christ-centered focus. By reflecting on the education I received at Eastern Christian, I am able to identify what I would like my students to gain from being enrolled at EC. I see God working in the lives of students here by providing excellent academic instruction and, most importantly, an education rooted in learning about God and the teachings of the Bible on how to reflect Christ-like behavior.
