Eastern Christian School welcomes Christina Strange as a fourth grade teacher. She received a Bachelor’s degree in education of the deaf and hard of hearing from The College of New Jersey and her master’s in literacy from American College of Education. She is a proud EC parent and is returning to EC after completing her most recent degree.

Please tell us about yourself.

I grew up in Bergen County and enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I love to exercise and taking time to keep up with the languages I’ve learned through the years (Italian, American Sign Language and Spanish).

Tell the story of how you got to EC.

I completed my undergraduate degree in education and went on to earn a TESOL degree while living abroad. I taught world languages for several years and took a long time off after starting my family. Three years ago I began working part time at EC as an elementary school paraprofessional and last year made the big decision to take the year off and complete my master’s in literacy. I did not know what God would have in store after completing the degree but He provided the perfect opportunity to serve as the fourth grade writing teacher and I could not be more excited.

What sets EC apart?

My children began attending EC in 2018; I’ve always appreciated the holistic approach to education and the emphasis on spiritual and character development. Since my children began attending, I had always hoped I might someday have the opportunity to work at EC when I was ready to return to full-time teaching. I have seen first-hand as a parent and staff member how every child is valued and loved, and how teachers are intentional about helping students grow as disciples of Jesus.

See what a Christ-centered education looks like for your child.
