Virtual High School Preview Day Recap
At Eastern Christian High School we recently welcomed over 60 eighth grade students virtually to check out our school as part of our annual High School Preview Day. We were very excited to see all of EC’s 8th grade class as well as registered 8th grade visitors from other schools in the area.
Students were first welcomed by High School Principal, Dave Intlekofer and guided through a series of engaging virtual ‘stops’, facilitated by 9-10th grade Dean, Tina Schwab and Enrollment Director, Suzanne Kraai. Students visited 4 classes to meet teachers and ECHS students to learn about teaching styles and curriculum. Students enjoyed chapel, largely organized, prepared, and led by HS students and featuring guest speaker Isaiah Velez’s exploration of Biblical Justice. Next 8th graders engaged in small groups to complete crossword puzzles of ECHS fun facts. HS panelists joined for a time of Q & A and the event closed with an opportunity for 8th graders to check out over 35 different spiritual, leadership, and/or scholastic clubs, activities, and teams via student-generated introduction videos.
Our first Virtual HS Preview Day was a great opportunity to peek into HS and explore the numerous opportunities that exist! Thanks to all the high school student hosts, our great EC faculty, and to all of the students who joined. We had an amazing time, and we look forward to welcoming in the class of 2025 next fall!
