I recently had the privilege to go to 6 Flags Great Adventure to hear the EC Orchestra, Band, Choir, and Honors Choir on Friday as they performed and were judged.

The Orchestra was phenomenal! Their sound was well blended, and their notes were crisp and clean. I thought I was listening to a professional orchestra at Carnegie Hall. Mrs. Clark has done an amazing job with her students over the years.

The Band was right on from the first note. The tempo, the sound, the pitch, and the crispness of their notes were as good as I have ever heard from any band. Their selections were well chosen and rehearsed by Mr. Flim. He has worked very hard with this group, and his hard work was evident.

The choir performed in a smaller venue, and they were absolutely amazing. We were able to hear the group before our choir perform, and they were good, and you can tell the director practiced and trained them well, but there was a marked difference in the sound, pitch, entires, cutoffs, and blending (I am not putting the other group down, but there was a big difference between them.). The principal from a rather large school in Brooklyn whose choir was going to follow ours, was absolutely astonished by our choir and was blown away by a piece our choir sang in Chinese.

I have run out of adjectives to describe our Honors Choir, who won best overall. They did a piece about words which blew everyone away. Dr. Yoder has really continued in the tradition of our excellent Choir and Honors Choir. We should be proud of our students and praise God for them and our directors!

Oh- and I got to ride a few of my favorite roller coasters too!
