5 Ways EC Does Education Differently

1. Into The Classroom

It is impossible to provide an exceptional education without exceptional teachers, and at Eastern Christian School, we are honored to have some of the best. From preschool to senior year, students receive individual attention from nurturing teachers who are truly invested in their success. Many of our students say their teachers feel like family away from home. Our commitment to keeping class sizes small fosters this comfortable environment.

2. Into The World

While the classroom experience is important, we also recognize that our students will soon become members of a rapidly changing society. This is why we focus so heavily on developing a strong Christian worldview. In every class, athletic activity, artistic performance and beyond, our educators emphasize Biblical truth, challenging students to think for themselves. ECS also requires students to put their faith into action by completing volunteer service hours throughout the year.

3. A Diverse Student Body

Our International Program allows students from all over the world to experience supportive and challenging academics from grades 7-12. Students are immersed in a melting pot of cultures and spend time growing together in and outside of the classroom. Short term hosting provides cultural learning opportunities for both American and International students of all ages during summer months. This diverse student body is beneficial for our resident and international students alike. Currently, we have students enrolled from China, Korea, Italy, India, Brazil, and Nigeria.

4. College Preparation

With rigorous academics and high benchmarks, our students are consistently accepted to America’s most prestigious universities. In fact, our high school was just named as one of America’s 50 Best Christian High Schools! As the only school in New Jersey to be named, we were honored by this recognition based on the following criteria:

• Academic excellence
• Extracurricular richness (fine arts, athletics, social activities, etc.)
• Geographic and demographic diversity
• Christian faith taken seriously

5. Enriching Activities

The Eagles Athletic Program was designed to teach values such as teamwork, diligence and respect. Through a variety of team sports, students can develop their physical and mental gifts while representing our school with pride. In addition to athletics, there are numerous fine arts programs offered at the elementary, middle and high school level. Offering theater, visual arts and music, we allow students to explore their interests while glorifying God.
