Tell us about yourself
I am an alumni of Eastern Christian Schools where I attended since Kindergarten.  I graduated from Nyack College with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education.  For the past 10 years, I have taught at a local Christian school, teaching both, 4th and 5th grade.  I have been married for 9 years to my wonderful husband and we have a 13 month old daughter who keeps us both busy and entertained.  I enjoy all sports, but specifically, the Yankees and Steelers are my favorite teams.  My husband and I have a goal to visit every major league baseball stadium.  We currently have visited 12 out of a total of 30, which also includes the Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, NY.   I also love spending time at the beach with my family or playing outdoor games with friends.

Tell us the story of how God brought you to work at EC
After having my daughter, I debated if returning to teaching was the right decision.  I knew how important it was for me to spend time with my daughter to guide and teach her.  At the time, we were also looking into purchasing our first home.  We viewed many houses and finally felt God pointing us to a house in Waldwick, which was closer to my husband’s job, but further from mine.  Knowing that Eastern Christian was right around the corner, I applied for the 3rd grade position, hoping that God would take control of the situation.  After accepting the position, I knew that God has ordained everything from leading us to our new house, to a new job, to finding a place for our daughter to love as well.  I am grateful for the Christian community that welcomed me in.

What sets EC apart – Why Eastern Christian?
Eastern Christian has a family atmosphere.  I felt welcomed immediately as I met new and past teachers.  It amazed me how people took time out of their day to walk down the hallway to check in and see if I had questions or to just give a friendly hello.  I love having the opportunity to pray with my students daily and worship together during Chapels.  I love taking the time to show my students God’s presence and power through all subject areas as well.  It is great watching the students embrace Eastern Christian’s core values as they pursue the character of Christ.

See what a Christ-centered education looks like for your child.
