Girls Varsity Basketball 2014-15

Having lost top scorer, 3 point shooter and defender Bethany Kuiken to graduation along with leading rebounder and shot blocker Abby Kuder, the Eagles have some holes to fill. With only two seniors on the roster (captains Jayna Van Buiten and Kate Klingler) the team will depend heavily on a talented sophomore class featuring Erin Vander Plaat and Brooke Van Lenten. Classmate Angelina Picciotto will also be in the rotation. Junior starter Kelly Tanis returns and will be relied on for rebounding and defense, and coach Veenstra hopes to see immediate contributions from freshman Addie Peretti. Juniors Ema Hagedoorn and Kelly Dykman complete the varsity roster and will lead the JV team, which includes five promising frosh. It could be a challenging start to the season for the Eagles as most of the girls must learn new roles but there is optimism that a .500 season is within reach.
