How would you describe your overall experience at Eastern Christian?

My overall experience at EC has been like no other. The tight knit community that gave me life long friends, the academics that challenge me, and sports that create lasting relationships are qualities that EC has that makes it like no other school. As soon as I came here in 7th grade, I knew that it was a special place and a place where I could find the Christian community that I was longing for.

In what ways have you grown in your faith as a result of your experience at Eastern Christian School?

Growing up in a Christian household, I found it very hard to make my faith my own. I would go to church with my parents every Sunday, but that started to become out of habit, and not out of true desire to want to connect with the Lord. Through the Bible classes that allow me to ask questions to deepen my understanding, the Bible studies that allow me to learn how to become more like Jesus, and the Christ-centered friendships that helped me create great relationships and also grow in my relationship with Him, I was able to make my faith my own. The Lord has also put it on my heart that it is time to step out in my faith and get baptized! By getting baptized, I am publicly declaring my faith that I have decided to follow Jesus and live for him through the good, the bad, and all the days of my life.

How do you feel that EC is preparing you for graduation, college/career and life?

EC has not only helped me affirm my plan to become a nurse in the future, but I am also learning how to efficiently plan the rest of my life through the Financial Literacy class that EC offers. Financial Literacy teaches how to manage and save money which are key aspects for going about life. EC’s classes give me confidence to approach life prepared and ready to take on any of the challenges that life throws.

What are your future career goals and how is EC helping you to get there?

My goal for my career in the future is to become a nurse, specifically a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Nurse. I plan on going to college, majoring in nursing, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, and becoming a Registered Nurse. The science and math classes that challenge me to work hard and help me achieve my goals confirmed my plan to become a nurse in the future. I truly believe that the medical field is such a special place where you can see God’s work every single day.

Briefly describe what you love most about EC.

The community, spiritual life, and the teacher-student relationships are what I love most about EC. The Christian community that EC gives is something like no other. There are many community events that allow people to connect and meet new people from all different campuses. The tight knit community allows for you to create relationships with different grades and get to know people on a deeper level than you would at a bigger school. The spiritual life that EC incorporates through the weekly chapel service, the yearly theme, daily devotionals, Bible studies, and the biblical topics brought up in classes, allow students to grow in their faith and become more and more like Christ each day. The teachers at EC are always willing to make themselves available when a student needs extra help, will spend extra time in class with a student if they are struggling, and they truly care about the well-being of their students. They want students to truly understand the material that they are teaching so they can use it no matter where they go in life.

What would you say to a prospective student considering joining Eastern Christian School?

For someone who is considering EC, I would tell them that EC is one of the most welcoming places I have ever come across. As soon as you step on to an EC campus you feel cherished and valued. EC has given me the Christ-Centered community that so many people long for, and has also given me a support system like no other. The education I have received challenges me and allows me to grow and prosper in any class or subject that I am taking, while preparing me for life after graduation. EC is a place that is incomparable to any other school and nobody will ever regret their choice of choosing EC. EC is not just a school, it is a second family.

What I love most about EC is the relationships that are built within the school, the integration of faith into every small moment of the day, and continual support from teachers and staff. I find that having teachers and staff who are rooted in Christ and excited to support and guide me has allowed me to flourish while staying centered on Christ.

In what ways have you grown in your faith as a result of your experience at Eastern Christian School?

Fortunately, I was born into a Christian household and can’t remember a time in my life when I wasn’t going to Sunday school or youth group. I have been blessed to have two parents who were constantly serving in the church and two older brothers who were walking alongside me in my faith journey, but as I was making the decisions to transfer to Eastern Christian I began to question if I knew enough about the Bible or if I was a “good enough Christian” to go to a Christian school. Instead of using this fear and an excuse to back away from transferring, I used it to fuel and grow my faith deeper and stronger. I took the summer before my freshmen year to spend more time in prayer and in God’s Word which allowed me to become more confident in my relationship with God and my biblical knowledge. Once I came to Eastern Christian, I instantly realized that every student and staff member are all at different point in their walk with God and they were there to walk alongside me. As I realized this, I began to feel led to lead and help other students who may have been feeling similar to how I was. This year I have been blessed to be a leader of FCA and No Cap Gospels, which are two student led groups that help students to share their faith in their daily lives. My walk with the Lord has grown immensely since transferring to Eastern Christian due to the constant prayer and support from my teacher and other staff member and I am extremely thankful for the blessing that God has shown me and the gifts that God has given to me to walk alongside others.

What’s an opportunity at EC that fueled a passion to learn and grow in?

An opportunity that has allowed me to grow and find my passions has been SOAR (a club and activity flex period) because it give me to try and learn new skill without the pressure of commitment for a whole year. Specific SOARS that have helped me are Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Art Club, and Card Games. Having the option to create SOARS and step into the leadership role allows for me to pour into other students as well as learn from them.

Briefly describe what you love most about EC.

What I love most about EC is the relationships that are built within the school, the integration of faith into every small moment of the day, and continual support from teachers and staff. I find that having teachers and staff who are rooted in Christ and excited to support and guide me has allowed me to flourish while staying centered on Christ. Having Christian teachers allows for open conversation and support, in addition to the Christian world view on the topics we discuss which provides me with comfort that what I am learning will support my views. The constant joy and excitement in the halls is something I look forward to everyday and the community within Eastern Christian is a quality that is very valuable.

What would you say to a prospective student considering joining Eastern Christian School?

I would tell the student that at EC there is a place for everyone. EC helps to place you where you need to be, not only academically, but also athletically and spiritually. SOARS are also a great opportunity for everyone to find a unique activity that they enjoy and meet many new people. Since I have transferred to EC, I have never questioned my decision or thought twice about my choice.

What I love most about EC is the unique way it blends academic intensity with a deep sense of belonging. While the coursework and exams are designed to push us to our limits, you never have to face those challenges alone; there is always a teacher or a peer ready to offer academic help or a moment of prayer. This support extends far beyond the classroom through our sports and clubs, which truly feel like a "family away from family." Because all our extracurriculars are rooted in faith, there is a constant sense of purpose and community that makes EC feel like home while preparing us for the world.

What’s an opportunity at EC that fueled a passion to learn and grow in?

Coming into EC, I didn’t initially see myself as someone who would be passionate about English, in fact I was quite the opposite. However, my perspective shifted during freshman year when I began to feel truly challenged by the rigor of the tests and essays. Instead of being discouraged, I found that the high expectations fueled a desire to push my limits. After freshman year, I sought ways to refine my writing thanks to the rigorous standards and constant support Ms. Provencher held. Sophomore year English, I felt so ready for the assignments coming my way, and now, major transformation is clearly evident in my work. What started as a standard requirement has become a genuine passion for self-improvement and academic excellence!

How do you feel that EC is preparing you for graduation, college/career and life?

Eastern Christian has prepared me for the future by constantly pushing the boundaries of what I thought I could achieve. The challenging assignments and high academic standards have been incredibly helpful; they taught me to stop settling for “good enough” and instead strive for excellence. I feel fully equipped to tackle any complex task in college or my career with confidence and grit. Beyond academics, EC has grounded me with essential life skills and a supportive community rooted in faith. Knowing I have a network that truly cares for me has given me the emotional and spiritual foundation I need to navigate life with purpose and resilience.

What are your future career goals and how is EC helping you to get there?

My future career goals are focused on reaching a leadership position within the business world, specifically in fields like finance or accounting, where I can eventually lead a company. A major part of my vision includes becoming bilingual in Spanish, which will allow me to work internationally and travel abroad during my studies & in college to gain a global perspective. EC is instrumental in getting me there through specialized instruction that matches my passions; for instance, Mr. Z’s math classes have sharpened the analytical skills I need for finance, while Mrs.Kuperus’ Spanish program has given me the linguistic foundation to pursue my goals. EC is providing me with the exact toolkit needed to succeed in a diverse, modern business environment.

What would you say to a prospective student considering joining Eastern Christian School?

If I were speaking to a student considering Eastern Christian, especially one coming from a public school background like I did, I would tell them that the transition is completely worth it for the growth you experience. While the high academic standards are definitely a step up, the environment here is designed to help you rise to that level rather than leaving you to struggle alone. You aren’t just a face in a crowd, you are part of a community where faith is woven into everything, from sports to the classroom. Joining EC means joining a family that pushes you to work harder while providing the spiritual and emotional support you need to actually succeed.

How would you describe your overall experience at Eastern Christian?

I joined Eastern Christian my 8th grade year, and since then I have definitely noticed a difference in my attitude and perspective. Eastern Christian has helped me grow in my faith, but most importantly has helped me build and strengthen my relationship with the Lord. From teachers who share devotions every morning to a community that genuinely cares about each student, I’ve felt constantly encouraged both spiritually and academically.

One of the ways that has helped me grow in my faith during my time at Eastern Christian is the weekly chapel. I think EC does a fantastic job of finding great speakers who share meaningful and relevant messages for the student body. These messages often challenge me to reflect on my own life and think more deeply about my relationship with God. In addition to chapel, being surrounded by a community that openly talks about faith has encouraged me to be more intentional in my own walk. Whether it’s through classroom discussions, devotions, or conversations with peers, I’ve learned to apply my faith to everyday situations. Overall, Eastern Christian has helped me not only learn more about faith, but also live it out in a consistent way.

Academically, classes like English and history are strengthening my reading, writing, and critical thinking skills, which are important skills for a career in law. My experience at Eastern Christian was very positive. Having gone to three other schools, I can say EC is a truly unique place. While great things can be said of all areas, to me EC really shines in its community. Never before have I seen a sense of belonging that even transcends grade levels. Every person is genuinely good at heart and wants to see the best of their classmates, creating a powerful and encouraging environment.

In what ways have you grown in your faith as a result of your experience at Eastern Christian School?

The most important ways in which I have grown in my faith as a result of Eastern Christian is through the integration of it into courses. Repeatedly throughout several classes I have been shown the glory and beauty of God and his creation via what we are currently learning. The faculty also do a great job of connecting faith into the curriculum and even talking with students about chapel or other biblical themes.

One of my favorite EC clubs is Model United Nations. While fun, Model UN takes a certain level of vigor and willingness to learn and grow in order to be successful. Through this club I have learned to give speeches with clarity and value, to work in a united global effort to discuss and help conflicts, and to overcome challenges of perseverance and dedication. Every day I am thankful for the skills and strength I have acquired from Model UN and hope that it will help students for generations.
