As new walls rise on Eastern Christian’s Wyckoff campus, the work happening behind those walls is just as meaningful. The hum of construction tells a story of faith, excellence, and community—values that have guided Eastern Christian for more than 130 years and continue to shape every phase of our Building on a Firm Foundation campaign.

For Andrew Hulsebos (EC Class of 2007), being part of this project with Reiner Group Heating and Air Conditioning is something special.

“It’s really cool to be part of this project, being an alumnus… Now my own kids are students here, and many of my Reiner coworkers are EC alumni too. It’s neat to be part of a community that’s still teaching the same core values that shaped me.”

Reiner was responsible for installing the rooftop HVAC units for the new addition, systems that will keep each classroom comfortable year-round. They also designed the ductwork and control systems and will continue to serve the school through ongoing maintenance and support for years to come.

“We were able to value engineer part of the project,” Andrew explains. “That saved money without sacrificing comfort or quality. That’s something we always strive for, doing excellent work while being good stewards of the resources God gives us.”

That alignment, between Reiner’s craftsmanship and Eastern Christian’s mission, is no coincidence. The same values that have guided EC for generations are alive in Reiner’s company culture.

“The core values I learned at EC like striving for excellence, developing responsibility, and seeking truth are the same ones we try to live out as a company… It’s also amazing to see my own kids learning those same lessons today.”

For Andrew and the Reiner Group team, this project isn’t just about heating and cooling systems—it’s about partnership. It’s about using their gifts to help prepare spaces where students will learn, grow, and encounter Christ for decades to come.

“Eastern Christian has been faithful to its mission for generations,” Andrew reflects. “It’s exciting to know that through this project, we’re helping make sure that continues for generations to come.”

As the Wyckoff addition takes shape, stories like Andrew’s remind us that this campaign is about more than buildings, it’s about people. It’s about alumni returning as parents, partners, and builders. It’s about faith passed from one generation to the next. And it’s about a community united to ensure that Eastern Christian’s mission endures, built on a firm foundation.
