The Eastern Christian Middle School’s “MAD” (Make A Difference) Program typically teaches our middle school students to help create real opportunities to live out our faith in the broader community. COVID-19 saw a temporary pause to the MAD program, but that didn’t stop Mr. Henderson from getting creative with his homeroom students in an effort to create a similar experience this year.

Students chose New Hope Community Ministries as the organization their partner organization. Students asked New Hope what would be most impactful supplies. They were challenged to provide 50 each of pasta sauces, disinfectant wipes, cheddar goldfish, and toothbrushes. This seemed intimidating at first. However, due to the generosity of the sponsors, donors, and attendees, the class will be providing not only ALL of what was requested, but an ADDITIONAL 50 toothbrushes and $770 through a disc golf tournament hosted on campus.

Thanks to Mr. Henderson, our amazing students and families, and our friends at New Hope Ministries for making this event possible!
