EC Receives $15,000 Calvin Institute of Christian Worship Grant

Eastern Christian School has received a worship grant from the Calvin Institute of Christian Worship. The grant, worth $15,000 for the 2019-2020 school year, will allow us to develop curriculum and materials for our worship theme: “Every Tribe, Tongue, and Nation” inspired by Revelation 7: 9-10. 

The Calvin Institute of Christian Worship offers a large collection of resources for worshipping communities around the United States and Canada. Eastern Christian School is one of three schools to receive the 2019-2020 grant. 

A big thanks to EC Teachers Belen Aranada and Adam Culp for their leadership in the formation of this theme and in the grant application process. Their vision and follow-through allowed EC to put our best foot forward as we were in consideration for these funds. Both teachers stepped up because they have a passion for this specific theme and will provide leadership for the implementation of this theme throughout the upcoming school year. Ms. Aranada and Mr. Culp got assistance from the spiritual theme committee as well as EC grant writer Melanie Davies. 

This entire project aligns incredibly well with our school-wide Global Competency initiative as part of our Middle States Accreditation renewal process. We hope to use this grant, this chapel theme, and the entire 2019-2020 school year to help our school become a more diverse, unified, empathetic and understanding worshiping community. We can’t wait to see what God does!
