The EC Spring Gala was held on Thursday, April 19, 2018.  It took us a week to write the Thank You Notes, put the empty baskets and sponsor signs into storage, and to declutter our offices, but we knew immediately that the event was a great success.

With over 300 guests in attendance, we had a fabulous night for Eastern Christian School. There was a constant buzz in the air as our guests talked about the Silent Auction items they were bidding on and as anticipation built for the Live Auction. It seems, that there was something for everyone. Beginning with delicious passed hors d’oeuvres and on through the steaming buffet our hunger was satisfied. And while we were eating, our appetites for other kinds of goodies were fed as well. Electronics, day trips, jewelry and purses, tents and drones, toys for kids and adults. Over 1,300 bids were cast during the Silent Auction and every item was sold.

The Live Auction began with the premier of EC’s new video “How Far I’ll Go.” Thanks to Rudi Gesch and Justin Van Dyke for another outstanding video sharing the EC story. The Heads or Tails game was next and with a large number of participants excitement and competition ran high.  After the Live Auction items were sold off, our Fund a Need for the night was introduced. In just a short amount of time, more than $28,000 was raised to support safety/security upgrades on all three campuses.

Our goal for this year’s auction was $106,000.00.  That represents about a 12% increase over last year.  Through God’s provision and the generous hearts of our community, I’m thrilled to announce that we exceeded our goal, raising nearly $110,000.00 for Eastern Christian School!

Thank you to our sponsors, our guests, and all of the volunteers who worked so hard.  You have been a blessing to all of us at Eastern Christian School.
