Welcome, Christi Scarpa!

Christi Scarpa, Preschool teacher

Tell us about yourself.
I grew up in Annapolis, Maryland and have lived in New Jersey for 10 years. I love beach trips and spending time with my family. I have two young boys so they keep me busy wrestling and teaching me about trucks.

How did God bring you to work at EC?
I graduated from Messiah College planning to become a counselor or social worker, but when I found a job as an aide in a kindergarten classroom, I fell in love with teaching. I decided to go back to school to become a teacher and finished my student teaching when I was 9 months pregnant with my first son. I have been home for the past 5 years with my two boys and I am now very excited to be making the transition back to the classroom as a preschool teacher!

Why Eastern Christian? Explain how you see God working in the lives of EC students.
My husband grew up at EC so I have always been drawn to this school. I have been a Substitute teacher at EC for 4 years and have always felt very welcomed and appreciated. EC is a very encouraging environment and since getting this job, I have already been prayed for and have felt so much support. I am so thankful that I will be able to bring my deep love for God into my classroom and teach my students how to see Him in everything we do.
