Bio:

Yoon is a dedicated and passionate math teacher with many years of experience. Her teaching approach is unique and personalized, as she tailors her methods to meet each student’s individual needs and learning level. Whether a student struggles with basic concepts or is ready to tackle advanced topics, Ms. Yoon adapts her teaching strategies to ensure every student has the support they need to succeed. Her goal is not just to help students excel in math but to make learning enjoyable and accessible to all.

Beyond her love for teaching, Yoon is deeply committed to sharing God’s grace and the work He has done in her life. She often encourages her students by sharing personal stories of faith, demonstrating how God’s love and guidance have shaped her journey. Through these conversations, Ms. Yoon hopes to inspire her students to place their hope in God’s kingdom, reminding them that they are never alone and that His plans for them are good. Her passion for both math and faith creates a nurturing environment where students are motivated to grow, both academically and spiritually.

Bio:

Christine has spent her professional career serving as a middle school and high school mathematics teacher. After eleven years in public education, Christine felt called to Eastern Christian School because of her desire to help students not only grow in their math skills, but also who they are in Christ. She strives to teach in a way that helps students become less intimidated by mathematics. Christine holds a BS in Mathematics, BA in Elementary Education, and a M.S.Ed in Special Education from Monmouth University.

Christine is married to her amazing husband, Jack. They have two children, Ava and Gia, both students at EC. Christine and her family are members of Church Alive where she serves as a member of the Kids Alive team and leads Transform Running. Outside the classroom, Christine enjoys spending time with her family, running, and plans to run the New York City Marathon soon.

Madison is a Gordon College graduate. She is also a proud EC alumni and excited to be back! Madison spends a lot of her time staying active and hanging out with her 3 dogs. Madison is passionate about helping students grow in their faith and discovering their gifts and talents. Her passion for Christ and walking alongside others in their faith is something she values greatly.

Bio:

Marie is happily married to Mina Dimetry. They have 3 boys and they are all EC students. The Dimetry’s family all serve and attend St. Mary Coptic orthodox church in Belleville. Marie has been teaching for over a decade and has taught high school, college, and now middle school.

Bio:

Faith grew up in Hawthorne and is excited to be back in North Jersey and a part of the EC community. After graduating from Messiah University with a degree in engineering, Faith felt led to become an educator. She loves to encourage students to unashamedly pursue their interests and passions, particularly in the STEAM fields. A self-proclaimed nerd, Faith enjoys all things math, numbers, engineering, puzzles, and design. She is passionate about encouraging students to integrate their personal faith into all aspects of their lives–inside and outside the classroom. When not teaching, one can find Faith listening to music or singing, traveling or planning her next trip, attending Zumba classes, and spending time with family and friends.

Bio:

Emily is excited to be at EC teaching 8th grade math! She grew up in the Albany area of New York and has lived in Rochester for the last four years where she taught high school math. When she’s not teaching, she can be found outside hiking, biking, or reading a good book in her hammock.

Bio:

Ian is passionate about teaching mathematics to his students. He strives to teach in a way that helps students find the joy in mathematics. He loves coming along side students and helping them learn and grow. Ian sponsors the Rubik’s Cube and Board Game electives on the High School campus. Ian was born in Maryland and moved to New Jersey after college to get married to his wife Melody (also an EC teacher). Ian and his wife have three kids, Eli, Bennett, and Emma. Ian and his Family attend Covenant Church in North Haledon.
