After teaching Art (K-7) in the public school system for over 20 years, Helen is happy to be a part of Eastern Christian School. She is thankful for the opportunity given her to help children grow their creative minds and abilities in a Christ centered environment. Helen attends Calvary Chapel North Jersey and serves in the Children’s Ministry. She enjoys watercolor painting, catching up with friends, relaxing at home with her Persian cat Mona, traveling, and spending quiet time with the Lord.

Kristin Kuiken

Upper Elementary & Middle School Art Teacher

Education: BSN, Cedarville College

Mrs. Kuiken is married to Jim Kuiken. They have four children: Skylar, Charlotte, Even and Quinn who are all students at EC. Kristin is excited to teach the students who God the ultimate creator is through the world of art. She is hoping to teach the children to express themselves creatively, appreciate the history of art and see how God can use art to reveal himself to us. When Mrs. Kuiken isn’t teaching she can be found at the Jersey shore.

Fernando Garcia

High School Art Teacher

Education: BA - Visual Communications, FIT NYC

Fernando is married to Claudia Garcia for 20 years. They have two children, Victoria and Samantha, who are enrolled at EC.

He started his passion for fine arts and visual communications at an early age. He studied Advertising Design at the H.S. of Art and Design and F.I.T. State University in NYC. He is a 5x Emmy Award-winning television director/producer with 20+ years of experience in broadcasting productions, event activations, and advertising design. He has substantial experience in the development of live newscast production, talk shows, musical stage performances, special TV programs, & TV/Web commercials.

Fernando previously served at Transformation Life Church in Wood-ridge, NJ for 6 years and is now a member at Bethany Church in Washington Twp. He has always been committed to serving the community and advancing God’s calling.
