HIgh School Mathematics Teacher
Please tell us about yourself.
I grew up in central Pennsylvania and am a Penn State fan. I don’t have much spare time with two young children, but when I do get it, I enjoy playing volleyball, going on runs, and knitting. I also enjoy looking at and solving logic problems and different encryption methods.
How did God bring you to work at EC?
I graduated from Grove City College with a degree in mathematics and a certification for 7-12th grade mathematics education. I ended up looking mainly in NJ for work because my then-boyfriend (now husband) lived here, and we wanted to be closer together, as I lived in PA at the time. About two weeks before the start of the school year a position popped up at the EC high school, where he had actually graduated from. The rest is history!
Why Eastern Christian School?
The difference I see at EC, as a person who had a public school education for high school, is the the commitment the teachers have for the well-being and education of their students. The way that teachers speak positively and constructively about their students behind closed doors is rare. Teachers here have an understanding that their work goes beyond a subject matter (which is also important), but is in reality a mission field.
