Please tell us about yourself.

I was born in New York and raised in New Jersey. From even at a young age, I’ve always wanted to work in the education field. I was studying to become a teacher, but pursued a school counseling degree instead because I desired to be more holistically involved in the post-secondary planning process of my students’ lives. When I’m not working, I enjoy baking and strolling through Target. Most days during the week, my husband and I serve our church in various ways.

How did God bring you to work at EC?

Before joining the EC family, I worked in various public schools and education companies as a school counseling intern, paraprofessional, and an academic advisor. As I was finishing up my masters program for school counseling, our church held services at ECHS. As I walked through the hallways of the high school every Sunday for a couple of months, I imagined myself being a part of a community such as EC’s. I went home one night and subscribed to EC’s employment opportunity emails. A year later, I received an email about an opening for the College & Career Counselor position. A few weeks later by the grace of God, here I am!

Why Eastern Christian School?

I love that EC provides their students with a strong Christian education that is Christ-centered. I also admire the way the whole EC community seeks the character of Christ throughout all aspects of their lives. The rich history of this school is truly a testament of God’s faithfulness and goodness.
