The middle school and high school music ensembles brought some Christmas cheer to the Paramus Barnes and Noble this past week. The Music Department Community Night has become an annual tradition and one that the entire EC community looks forward to each year. The Concert Choir, Band, Orchestra, and Honors Choir all performed.
Friends and family of EC joined with regular Barnes and Nobles shoppers to enjoy a delightful Christmas concert. In addition to the high school and middle school faculty and staff, our EC elementary school teachers enjoy seeing their former students at this event.
Rob Flim, EC’s Music Department Director said he was extremely proud of his students for their professionalism and excellence in their performance.
Phil Verrengia also enjoyed the concert. “I think it’s a really good venue because of the acoustics,” he said. “When you walk in, you can hear the music reverberating through the entire store.”
Not only is this a community building night, it helps out our music department with various financial needs. For each purchase at Barnes and Nobles that night, a percentage of the proceeds went directly to Eastern Christian Music Department. In addition the Tri-M Music Honors Society was able to work with Starbucks to create a special drink that was available for one night only– they called it the Concerto Cinnabon Frappuccino.
