The fourth grade students of Eastern Christian Elementary School worked hard for the last several months to memorize lines, songs, and dances to tell the story of Elijah from the Old Testament.  Elijah was called by God to tell the people of Israel to repent of their sins and to stop worshiping the idol Baal. Elijah told the Israelites to ask for forgiveness of their sins and turn to the one, true God, but not many were interested in turning from their lives of sin.  God was still able to work through Elijah to show His power, and ultimately turn the Israelites back to Him after proving that there is no god other than Yahweh.

“The fourth grade musical is one of the highlights of his year and teachers were so proud to see how the students were able to lead the school in worship through this story,” said Rob Flim, Elementary School music teacher.  “Many fourth graders entered school nervous and excited to share their hard work with the school and family members. Their hard work paid off and they executed an excellent performance which was able to remind us all of God’s power and faithfulness.”

If you are interested in seeing an encore performance of the fourth grade musical, Elijah: God’s Faithful Prophet, you can attend a performance at Covenant Christian Reformed Church in North Haledon on Friday, April 20 at noon, or on Sunday April 22 at the 6:00 PM service at Cedar Hill Christian Reformed Church in Wyckoff.
