Eastern Christian School Appoints Ruth Kuder Chief Educational Officer

Eastern Christian School’s Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Mrs. Ruth Kuder as Chief Educational Officer of Eastern Christian School with effect from July 1, 2017.

Mrs. Kuder currently serves as Principal of Eastern Christian High School, a position that she has held since 2014.  She previously served in numerous positions of increasing responsibility at Eastern Christian School, including High School Vice Principal, International Student Program Director, Dean of Students, and as a member of the English and Spanish faculty.

Mrs. Kuder received her undergraduate degree in History and Literature from Wheaton College, Wheaton, IL, and her master’s degree in Educational Administration at the University of Scranton, Scranton, PA.  She is certified by the NJ Department of Education as a teacher, principal and school administrator.

Ruth, her husband Rich, and their family reside in Wayne, NJ and are active at  Restore Christian Reformed Church in North Haledon, NJ.

Simultaneous with the announcement of Mrs. Kuder’s appointment, the Board announced that it had retained Stevenson & Company, a Minneapolis based search firm specializing in leadership searches for Christian educational institutions, to lead the search for her replacement as high school principal.  A search team consisting of students, teachers, parents, and Board members will work with Stevenson & Company in developing a recommendation of candidates for consideration by the Board.
