8th grade students that came to check out ECHS. We hope to see them all back in the building in September!
At Eastern Christian High School we recently welcomed nearly 70 eighth grade students to our school as part of our annual High School Preview Day. We were very excited to see all of EC’s 8th grade class as well as 20 visitors from other schools in the area. Many EC eighth grade students were surprised to learn that we gain so many new students every year in 9th grade that their class size will double coming into high school in the fall of 2015!
Students had the opportunity to shadow two separate high school students for two periods of the day to get a better understanding of what classes will be like as high school students. After dropping off their students, parents were offered a tour of our high school campus and many took us up on the offer. It was an outstanding time to talk and listen and to dream together about what their child might do as a member of the class of 2019 at ECHS!
Students and parents joined the entire high school student body and faculty in a time of worship. After a time of singing lead by our student praise team, speaker Chad Smith challenged us to emulate Noah and follow God’s vision for our lives- no matter how insurmountable the obstacles may seem.
Our eighth grade guests were invited to a good meal in the cafeteria, and wrapped up the day with a big group shot in their brand new “Soar EC” Under Armor t-shirts!
Thanks to all the high school student hosts, our great HS faculty, and to all of the students and parents who came to visit. We had an amazing time, and we look forward to welcoming in the class of 2019 next fall!
