At Eastern Christian, we have the highest expectations for all students. Unlike many other private schools, we readily welcome underperforming students, as well as students from disadvantaged backgrounds as a part of our mission. We have provided this information to demonstrate that our high performers are just that – high performers.

Measures of Academic Progress Testing
Eastern Christian Projected Proficiency for NJ ASK Comparison

The State Department of Education measures the “proficiency” of grades 3 – 8 students using an assessment named PAARC. Our NWEA standardized assessment “Measures of Academic Progress” provides a statistical projection of what percentage of our students would be deemed “proficient” if they took the PAARC assessment.

Each January the State Department of Education publishes the percentages of students deemed “proficient” by grade of all public schools. Our projected percentage numbers compare quite favorably with the best public schools in our area. Below are recent results for our students in their culminating year on the elementary and middle school campuses. Because we take MAP assessments in the spring and fall we can report and track learning growth even more accurately than public schools.
