It is with great sorrow that we share the sad news that our friend and colleague, Paul Beverly, went home to be with his Savior on Tuesday, August 1, 2017.

Paul profoundly influenced thousands of lives during a teaching career that spanned forty two years, including thirty three years of service at Eastern Christian High School. During his years at Eastern Christian, Paul served in many roles, including Social Studies Department Chair and High School Supervisor of Instruction.

But the role in which he will be most remembered is that of a caring teacher who challenged his students to view the world through the lens of scripture.  Paul truly lived his life according to the words of Micah 6:8, “…And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.”

Paul will be greatly missed by all who knew him, and especially by his wife Gail, his children Lisa Branum, Jennifer &  Chris Ten Harmsel, and Phil & Jenna Beverly, and his five grandchildren.

Friends are invited to visit with the family at Vander Plaat-Vermeulen Funeral Home, 530 High Mountain Rd, Franklin Lakes on Friday, August 4 from 2:00-4:00 PM and 7:00-9:00 PM.  A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 5 at 11:00 at Cedar Hill Christian Reformed Church, 422 Cedar Hill Ave, Wyckoff.

Eastern Christian School will hold a service honoring Paul’s many contributions to the school on Sunday, August 6 at 2:00 PM in the Media Center of Eastern Christian High School, 50 Oakwood Ave., North Haledon.

Please be in prayer for Gail and the entire Beverly family as they seek God’s comfort in their time of loss.
