The final week of the season began with a bruising victory at Mary Help. Dominating man to man defense in the opening minutes allowed the Eagles to jump out to an 11-1 lead and stifle the Blue Jays throughout. In the final minute Brooke Van Lenten received yet another high elbow to the face forcing her to leave the game and visit the dentist, but not before scoring 17 points to lead an otherwise cold shooting performance by the team in the 30-21 win. Facing an improved Garfield team on Thursday without Brooke and Angelina Picciotto, the girls rose to the challenge and played one of their best games of the year. Led by captains Jayna Van Buiten and Kate Klingler in their final game on senior day, the Eagles soared to win #10, a 37-29 victory sparked by five three’s and 21 points from freshman Addie Peretti. Congratulations to the team on reaching their goal, and to Jayna and Kate for their four years of dedication, perseverance and contribution to the program!
