The Boys and Girls Indoor Track teams had a very successful two weeks as they participated in the passaic County Championships and the NJIC Meet at the Armory in NYC.
On January 25 The Girls team took 3rd place in Passaic county with a total of 47 points. Lyndsey Smith took first place in the 400 m. run, third in the long jump and second in the 55 m dash. Erin VanLenten placed in all four of the events that she participated in taking second in the triple jump and fourth in the high jump, hurdles and long jump. Michelle Silvestri rounded out the scoring with a sixth in the long jump.
On February 6 the Girls team placed third in the NJIC Meet with 45 points The Boys took seventh with 16.5 points. There are 26 teams in the NJIC, 17 of them run winter track. Lyndsey Smith took a first in the 400 m., second in the 55 m. and second in the long jump. Erin VanLenten placed third in the 55 hurdles and triple jump and fifth in the high jump. Bryan Lineweaver placed fourth in the long jump and fifth in the triple jump. Tanner Allen placed fourth in the pole vault, Devin Graham took fifth in the 55 m. and Carter Heerema took a sixth in the 3200 m. The girls 4X400 relay, made up of Katie Hefty, Erin VanLenten, Brittany VanHarken and Lyndsey Smith, placed third and the boys relay, made up of Rich Bruffy, Bryan Lineweaver, Devin Graham and Carter Heerema, took a fifth. In the Novice Division Katie Hefty won the girls 200 m. dash and Stephen Raman took second in the boys 200 m. The boys Novice 4X400 Relay, made up of David Hefty, Stephen Raman, Dan Kuder and Tanner Allen placed fifth.
