As a widowed parent of a student at Eastern Christian Middle School, I can speak with a great deal of excitement about our experience at EC. I transferred my son over from public school in the middle of his 5th Grade year.
For the first year or so my son raced to my car in the parking lot with a huge smile, while he shared the news of the great day he had. He was so thrilled with the kids he had met, and with all of his teachers. On his first day of school, he told me that a classmate had prayed for him that morning. “She thanked God for me mom," he said. It has been since that first day that my son has been able to, (for the first time since September 11, 2001), completely sleep through the night. He is now accepted by his peers, and it has changed our lives. He is so much happier at home, and his confidence has been uplifted (Thank God). He has become a young man who feels comfortable praying, and even leading our family in prayer. He turned to me in the car on the way to EC recently and said “I love school Mom." I canʼt tell you what a blessing that is to a mother, and let me remind you, a mom of a Middle Schooler! We are very blessed to be part of the EC family. The education is wonderful, (my son's grades have shown tremendous improvement), the teachers are Godly individuals that are caring and nurturing. Even the schoolʼs Office Assistants are a joy. I thank God for this school, and am confident as a parent that sending my children to EC has truly been “the right choice”.Maria Silverstein
