Eastern Christian Celebrates Arrival of Teacher

The entire Eastern Christian School community gathered in ceremonies on all three campuses this week to celebrate the arrival of our leading Master Teacher. An educational prodigy, this teacher demonstrated remarkable insight and commanding pedagogical technique already by the age of twelve. His early teaching amazed the leading theologians and seminary professors of the day with his depth of knowledge and insight regarding complex issues such as the relationship between God and people, issues of the law, and complex matters of interpersonal relationships.

Our teacher demonstrated mastery in multiple educational settings, whether addressing classes numbering in the thousands or in encounters with individual students. Using a variety of teaching techniques, including the use of memorable illustrations, simple drawings and diagrams, and, at times, powerful displays of righteous anger regarding unjust practices, he demonstrated a unique ability to communicate his classroom content in original ways that his students not only understood at this time of his lesson, but remembered for their entire lives. A powerful speaker whose classes were frequently oversubscribed to the point of causing great difficulties for the food service and custodial staff, this master teacher had the ability to simply and clearly articulate his lessons to even the youngest students with a level of love and care never previously witnessed.

This week Eastern Christian School commemorates the arrival of our Master Teacher, our Lord, and our Savior, Jesus Christ.
