Gifts to this Fund will be used in the current or next succeeding school year to fund scholarships for students from needy families who have applied for scholarship aid and who have been determined to need assistance. The Scholarship Committee makes the final determination of assistance to be granted. Applications received by May 9th will receive priority consideration.
The Elise Kathleen Gorter Endowed Scholarship Fund originated with a gift from Steve and Laura Gorter in 2004 in memory of their daughter, Elise, a student at Eastern Christian Middle School, upon her untimely death. All gifts in memory of Elise and any Endowed Scholarship Fund gifts without restriction are added to this fund. The purpose of the Fund is to grant scholarship aid to needy students attending Eastern Christian School from the income earned on the fund balance. The balance in this fund is currently in excess of $65,000.00 and scholarships granted are approximately $3,000.00 per year.
The Adrian Visbeen Scholarship Fund originated with gifts from the Visbeen family, friends and the Visbeen Construction Company, Inc., in memory of Adrian “Bud” Visbeen, upon his untimely death. All gifts in Bud’s memory any gifts for scholarship aid to students with families in the construction trades will be added to this fund. The purpose of the Fund is to provide scholarship aid to needy students attending Eastern Christian School whose families are in the construction trades. The income earned on the fund balance, which is currently in excess of $61,000.00, will be used for this aid.
In 1997, Peter De Korte established this fund, the income from which is to be used to provide tuition assistance to students who have physical disabilities. Mr. De Korte established this fund out of gratitude to God for all He had done for him, and a desire to share with others who had disabilities some of the blessings he had received. The balance in the fund is currently in excess of $280,000.00.
This Fund originated with a grant from the Paterson City Missionary Society in 1989. Endowed Scholarship Fund gifts that are restricted to aiding inner city students are added to this fund. The balance in this fund is currently in excess of $83,000.00 The purpose of the Fund is to aid inner city students in the payment of their tuition expenses at Eastern Christian Schools. Only the income earned on the fund balance may be used for tuition assistance purposes.
Eastern Christian School currently administers several scholarship funds that provide scholarship aid for post-high school education for Eastern Christian graduates.

As a widowed parent of a student at Eastern Christian Middle School, I can speak with a great deal of excitement about our experience at EC. I transferred my son over from public school in the middle of his 5th Grade year.
