Our core value for the month of December is Serve Others. Serve means to assist or help. Others are people near and far. We recognize that we all have gifts, abilities and resources that we can use to help others.
We were privileged to have Thomas Henion, Executive Director of Madison Avenue Crossroads Community Ministries, Inc. speak in chapel recently. MACCM strives to meet the physical and spiritual needs of families and children in Paterson. Mr. Henion encouraged us to serve others by donating food for their food bank and new or gently used hats, mittens, gloves, scarves and children's books. Our collection of these items is overflowing in the hallway. Thank you for your willingness to share your resources and serve others. We will collect these items through Wednesday, December 21.
Our kindergarten students will present their Christmas program in chapel on Tuesday, December 20 at 8:30. All are welcome to attend. We hope you have a wonderful Christmas with your family as you celebrate the joy of our Savior's birth.
**Delayed Opening News: When a delayed opening is called due to inclement weather, preschool and half day kindergarten classes can now attend a Come 'n Play Program. Students can arrive as early as 10:15 and stay as late 3:15pm. The cost of this program is $5.00/hour. If you would like more information, please call the school office at 201-445-6150.
**School Calendar Change: All Eastern Christian Schools will be open 1/2 day for students on Friday, January 20, 2012 to make up one day lost to the October snow storm. This will allow for 3 snow days going into the winter months of the year and will add one day to the first semester. Please note that the Stay 'n Play and After School Programs will not be held on January 20. Thank you.
Become A Host Family: Eastern Christian School is currently seeking host families for our Summer American Experience program. Many of the students that come to our program have never heard the gospel. This would be a great opportunity for global missions right in your own home. You will be able to learn more about another culture and be able to share the gospel. The dates are July 22nd to August 13th, 2012. You can either call James at 973.427.6244 or email him @ This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
