How to Apply For Admissions

Thank you for your interest in Eastern Christian School. This check-list is designed to assist you in the application process. Step One-Application Phase

• Completed Application
• Student Questionnaire (grades 9-12)
• Student Essay (grades 9-12)
• International Student Agreement
• International Pastor's Form
• International Parent/Guardian Agreement
• International Character Reference
• Teacher Recommendation Form
• School Form (required only if presently attending school in the United States)
• Please submit current school records:
  --Official School Transcript (must be translated and evaluated for Eastern Christian School) www.wes.org
• Immunization Record
• (Grades 9-12 only) a copy of the official results of one of the following English Proficiency tests:
  1.  Secondary English Proficiency Test (SLEP)
  2.  Test of English as a Foreign Language Test (TOEFL) www.ets.org/toefl
  3.  Michigan English Test (MET)
• Official copy of applicant's birth certificate or copy of Passport.
• Recent passport sized photo of student. Please print the name on back of the picture.
• Financial Guarantee Form
• I-20 Information Form
• International Tuition Worksheet
• $100.00 USD application fee (non-refundable).

The application process will not continue until all the above documentation and fees are submitted to Eastern Christian School Association.

Step Two - Interview Stage:

Once the Director of Admissions has received all documents, forms, and fees an interview will be scheduled.

• If the parent(s) and child are in the United States the interview will be conducted in person at the Eastern Christian School Admission Office.
• If the parent(s) and child are not in the United States then an official representative of ECSA will conduct the interview through an online service such as Skype or via telephone.
• Host Family Interview with Director of Admissions or ECSA representative.

The interview will be conducted to assist the school in determining the following:

• The commitment of the family to serving Jesus Christ in all ways including education.
• The parent's support for school policies and procedures that will hold the student accountable.
• Whether the parents will work directly with the school or through a legal guardian.
• Legal guardians must also be interviewed by ECSA personnel before an applicant will be accepted as a student.
• What means of direct communication will be utilized with the parents (home telephone, cell phone, email, etc).
• The student's fluency in writing and speaking technical English. An applicant requesting admission to the upper grades (9-12) must be fluent in technical English before acceptance will be considered.
• The parent's agreement to abide by the ECSA school calendar. It is imperative that the student's be present in class on the first day of school and remain until the end of the year exams are completed.
• The name of the local Church where the student will attend weekly worship services.
• The student's living arrangements while attending Eastern Christian School.

After the interview is completed all records, forms, and a summary of the interview will be submitted to the respective Eastern Christian School for review. If the applicant meets all the ECSA admissions requirements, including the interview and approval by the respective school, the ECSA Admission Office will notify the parents that the student has been accepted as an ECSA student.

Step Three - Acceptance:

The following fee must be received before a USCIS Form I-20 will be issued, NO EXCEPTIONS
 

• $500.00 USD International Student acceptance fee (non-refundable).

Final Step - Enrollment:

Enrollment is not official until all the documentation, fees, etc. are received.

• Enrollment Contract
• Host Family Agreement and official background check of host parent(s).
• Official Physical Examination Form (Signed by a licensed physician and translated into English)
  ---the physical examination must be current and remain current for the entire school year.
• Transportation Form (optional)
• All tuition and fees are in U.S. currency. Tuition and fees must be deposited by wire transfer to the ECSA account before a student can begin classes. See International Student Tuition and Fees information for exact amounts.
